My Favorite Rides at Hollywood Studios

I know that planning your trip to Walt Disney World can be a pretty complicated task. You can see on a lot of different websites a super set out plan of what you should do and how to get there and what times and so forth. I have been planning trips for people for about four years and I have learned that absolutely every case is different. Some are traveling with kids and dont want to do rider swap while others are not looking for baby rides at all. For that reason I decided to rather talk about my favorite rides rather than making a plan. Before going into my favorites rides, I want to go into some keep concepts

For every single ticket that you buy, you get three fastpasses per day for one park. These give you a time period and you need to go to the ride at the very specific given time frame. This allows you to enjoy the parks and go almost worry free. Now if you are staying at one of the Disney Hotels then you can reserve up to 60 days in advanced and if you are not then you can reserve 30 days in advanced. I know that staying at a Disney Hotels allows people to get the tier one attractions such as Pandora's flight of Passage and Seven Dwarfs mine train. You can learn more about fast passes here and more about hotels here and tickets here.

Rider Swap

If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, then one adult can wait with the non-rider or a group of riders while the rest of the party gets on the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in line. To get this service approach the cast member at the given attraction and explain the case.

Tours give you the flexibility to jump from park to park or attraction to attraction based on the tour that you choose. You can learn a lot about the tours and the different categories by clicking here. I personally have taken the VIP Tour and it has been probably one of the best experiences ever, we got to ride about seventeen rides and it was only in seven hours!

Thrill Rides

Slinky Dog Dash

This is one the newest rides to open! It is very similar to the attractions Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The fast pass system does work a little bit different here, you can click here to learn more! In my case, my family does not like thrill rides so I often times get a fast pass here! The height requirement is 38 inches or 97 centimeters, it includes, small drops but nothing major or too scary!

Rise of the Resistance

This ride just recently opened in the new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Honestly the experience is breathe taking. As soon as you get into the park you join a virtual line to actually ride the ride instead of making a line. This is super cool as really once you get called the line to get on is the actual ride. It is so hard to explain but you get trapped by the Dark Side. You are going to basically jail but the Resistance breaks you out! It is the most advanced ride and it is insane! I recommend getting here about thirty minutes before the park opens in order for you to be able to join the line! It usually closes right after the park opens! This ride has a height requirement of 40 inches or 102 centimeters and has small drops but honestly is amazing.

Smugglers Run - Watch the Video

This ride as well opened at the new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge! It is amazing! There is no fast pass being offered for this ride. You need to go over to make the line! I recommend rushing over there as soon as the park opens! You pilot the Millennium Falcon, any little mess up, you will feel and so will your party! It is insane! The height requirement for this ride is 38 inches or 97 centimeters

Tower of Terror

A elevator ride that takes you up and down. If you are scared of drops, this ride is not for you. I would say to either get a fast pass for this or try making the line as soon as you are done with the other areas. It normally gets up to two hours but I have not seen it worse than that.

Rockin Roller Coaster Aerosmith

Race through the darkened freeways of Los Angeles in a limo while Aerosmith is blasting on your ears. It is very very very fast. If you do not like big coasters, I do not recommend it. If you do, this is where the decision gets a little bit tougher.I would say to grab a fast pass for this if you can! The height requirement for here is 48 inches or 122 centimeters and has big drops and is extremely loud.

Chill Rides

Toy Story Mania

This is my favorite! I would for sure get a fast pass here! You get on a ride and blast moving targets in a 4d shooting game starring all the Toy Story Mania characters. If you absolutely need / want a fast pass for Tower of Terror or Rockin Roller Coaster, I would say to get it and ride this ride after Smugglers Run or after your three fast passes are up, check back to get one more for this one - even if it is at night. Any height and age can get on this ride!

Star Tours

This is under the "other experiences" so I would say to choose it as a option, but you make the jump to hyperspace as your rude aboard a 3D motion simulated space flight to literally a random Star Wars location. Every time is is different which makes it an incredible experience. The height requirement is 40 inches or 102 centimeters and has small drops but nothing too major. I personally love this ride.

The Other Rides

My Personal Take

This particular park has a lot of shows. If you are traveling with kids the best one may be Disney junior and I would say to go to the general public for The Little Mermaid show and Frozen Ever After show. I once got a fast pass for Fantasmic, the night show, but I found that it really makes no difference, they are not going to let you to a specific area but rather only let you a couple of minutes before. My personal favorite show is Muppet Vision 3d, but keep in mind, I grew up with the muppets, it is not the case for everyone, but for my generation, it might be. I would say that the park has a lot of none attractions. I always visit One Man's Dream which is the museum of Walt Disney and I also always visit the Launch Bay which is the museum with Star Wars artifacts. Star Wars Land also takes up a lot of the time. I personally loved building a droid and light saber but you have to reserve that!
