My Favorite Rides at Animal Kingdom

I know that planning your trip to Walt Disney World can be a pretty complicated task. You can see on a lot of different websites a super set out plan of what you should do and how to get there and what times and so forth. I have been planning trips for people for about four years and I have learned that absolutely every case is different. Some are traveling with kids and dont want to do rider swap while others are not looking for baby rides at all. For that reason I decided to rather talk about my favorite rides rather than making a plan. Before going into my favorites rides, I want to go into some keep concepts

For every single ticket that you buy, you get three fastpasses per day for one park. These give you a time period and you need to go to the ride at the very specific given time frame. This allows you to enjoy the parks and go almost worry free. Now if you are staying at one of the Disney Hotels then you can reserve up to 60 days in advanced and if you are not then you can reserve 30 days in advanced. I know that staying at a Disney Hotels allows people to get the tier one attractions such as Pandora's flight of Passage and Seven Dwarfs mine train. You can learn more about fast passes here and more about hotels here and tickets here.

Rider Swap

If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, then one adult can wait with the non-rider or a group of riders while the rest of the party gets on the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in line. To get this service approach the cast member at the given attraction and explain the case.

Tours give you the flexibility to jump from park to park or attraction to attraction based on the tour that you choose. You can learn a lot about the tours and the different categories by clicking here. I personally have taken the VIP Tour and it has been probably one of the best experiences ever, we got to ride about seventeen rides and it was only in seven hours!

Chill Rides

Pandora: Flight of Passage

So this is the ride that pretty much anyone and everyone is talking about. It is amazing. It is my personal favorite. You get to fly on the back of a mountain banshee during a 3D ride about the vast moon at Pandora. No, you do not need to know anything about the movie- I dont, and I love it. If you are able to get a fast pass for this please do so and if not, I would say to show up to this attraction about an hour before to be able to get on it. The height requirement is 44 inches or 112 centimeters, and this is a thrill ride, however, it is nothing extreme.

Kilamanjaro Safari

This ride will honestly be liked by anyone no matter what likes and dislikes they have. You ride off in an open air vehicle for a day or evening tour of a lush African savanna which is home to actual real live exotic animals. Some of them may pass literally right in front of you. It is such an amazing experience! I recommend a fast pass! This ride is great for any height and any age.

Thrill Rides

Mt Everest

This is probably the fastest ride in Animal kingdom. You go through the Himalayan mountains on a speeding train while avoiding the clutches of the mythic abominable snowman. I would recommend a fast pass for this as lines can get pretty hectic! There is a height requirement being 44 inches or 122 centimeters or taller. It consists of thrill rides, big drops, and dark areas.

This for some reason is like my favorite one. You take off on a scary prehistoric tour aboard a Time Rover to save a Dinosaur from extinction. IT IS SO COOL. If you do not like Mt. Everest as an option, I would say to definitely get this fast pass. I also do want to say that it does have large sounds and bumpy encounters with Dinos, if you are traveling with little ones that could be scared of this please be advised! There is also a height requirement for this one which is 40 inches or 102 centimeters and it does have thrill rides, small drops, dark, and scary parts which should be kept in mind when planning trips with children.

The Other Rides

My Personal Take

In my opinion the rest of Animal Kingdom is shows and viewing. Take your time to go on the trails, they are beautiful. Take your time to interact with different shows according to the area that you are visiting. I love Festival of the Lion King, it is interactive and very fun! Finding Nemo and Tough To Be a Bug are very unique shows with very sticky songs! The only show that well I cannot comment for is UP! A Great Bird Adventure, I am terrified of birds and long story short you will never see me close to them. I also love that the Animal Kingdom has a lot and I mean a lot of festivals going on! It is insane and incredible!
