Fall in love with Epcot
Updated: Jan 5, 2020
Epcot, the best park in my opinion. Epcot at Walt Disney World is considered to be the "adult" park. It is the area where cultures collide and innovations come together. Epcot World showcase open at 11am, the park opens at 9 am which means that the world show case area is rather empty and perfect location to take pictures.
The Edited Cut:
The problem with Epcot is that there is no fall decor. If you want it to be known that it is fall in your picture, you have to bring the fall aesthetic to the park. When one thinks of fall outfits, it is so easy to think of burgundy colors and cheetah prints. In my opinion that is what can quickly distinguish in a picture the season. I chose this burgundy romper from topshop. The backpack is not only a perfect essential for the parks, but it is the perfect size and color as well. The color adds more of the fall tones to the entire picture in general. For hair clips, I went ahead and used cheetah clips to tie my baby hairs closer to my Mickey ears. The Mickey ears also need to be highlighting the season. The bow pairs carefully with the color of the backpack.
The Scenery and Pose:
I will admit that posing with a backpack is very different than posing normal. The backpack cannot be at an angle where the audience cannot see the outfit, rather the position needs to be carefully placed to compliment the outfit. In the France pavilion, I wanted to make the backpack the center of attention without losing the attention in the outfit itself. I positioned the backpack on only one arm and carried the rest of the attention to my ears. I personally loved it when I touched the ears and the backpack was rather loosely placed because it created an affect of careless perfection. In the England pavilion I thought that the floor contrasted perfectly with my outfit. For this shot I used it to my advantage. For this reason I decided to sit sideways on the floor. I did not completely sit down so that I had a control of where the romper was being pointed at and not wrinkled. Going in the morning is the best time to take these pictures as everyone is rushing to go get their rides in. Also since the world showcase open until 11am, not many people are seeing what is up and gives one the liberty to take pictures without having to worry about the crowds.
The light was off, it was very bright for the pictures. The first thing I did was fix the light and make it less harsh. I made sure to make the things that needed to pop and create a aesthetically pleasing environment.
This project was made possible in collaboration with Jorge Martinez who was the photographer for this shoot. He always has the patience and the time to work with me as I get my pose, outfits, and makeup together.
